I cover a lot of different titles, with some particular attention to the previous runs of "Spider-Man 2099" and "Nova." Welcome back, Richard! Until next time, Miguel.

New Comics! (HERE BE SPOILERS!)
Captain America and Bucky #628: OK, so, I don't think anyone's shocked by the fact that Cap, Jim, and Fred manage to foil Adam III's plans. But, it wasn't really like the real focus of this arc was Adam III in the first place. The real focus was Fred, and Brubaker and Asmus do a good job of taking the time to focus on him here, despite the need to wrap up the main event. I thought the scene of Fred as a young man in the bar realizing that he could never own the Bucky legacy was poignant, as was his narration at the end of the issue, talking about his fears about reaching the end of his life without knowing if he's any real impact. At the end of the day, superhero-ing is a young man's game, so it was interesting to get this perspective into what happens after the spandex doesn't fit. In fact, this issue had a bit of a "Watchmen" feel to it, exactly for that reason. Unfortunately, the parts not dealing with Fred were slow. It was weird to basically want the Cap parts of the book to pass quickly, but I found Adam III's constant monologuing to be so tiresome (as, apparently, did Cap) that I can't say I paid that much attention to those parts. But, we at least do right by Fred (though, just like Cap defeating Adam III, I don't think anyone really thought that we wouldn't). I'm most excited by the upcoming shift to Hawkeye, mainly because I've been disappointed by the way that several authors (notably, Van Meter in "Avengers: Solo" and Remender in "Secret Avengers") have depicted their relationship lately. I'm hopefully Bunn will correct this problem. We shall see, I guess.
