Book of Death #3 (HERE BE SPOILERS!)

We don't directly get any new answers here, but we're certainly a lot closer to them.  It's still possible that Darque is a future version of David (returned to complete the cycle of corruption), but I'm less sure of that now.  Venditti shows us that David hasn't yet become totally corrupted, as he tries to grow a plant in the darkness and uses the telepathic link that Tama opens between them to ask for help.  But, if Darque isn't David, then we still don't know who he is or how he became corrupted.  However, it is clear that my hypothesis that corrupted Geomancers bring on the Dark Ages that the Immortal Enemy initiates in killing Geomancers isn't true; we learn here that Darque is the first person ever to steal a Geomancer's power.  Needless to say, next issue should be suitably epic.
