** (two of five stars)
I cover a lot of different titles, with some particular attention to the previous runs of "Spider-Man 2099" and "Nova." Welcome back, Richard! Until next time, Miguel.

The Ultimates #2 (HERE BE SPOILERS!)
It's clear that Ewing is going to be walking a fine line every issue, trying to amaze us with science without losing us in techno-babble. If he stays on the line, he'll be successful in inspiring awe in the advanced science that the team is performing, like turning Galactus into a life-giver, not planet-destroyer. If he falls off the line, we're going to be confused by what we're seeing and why we should care. Similarly, he's going to have to make sure that the team isn't too capable. In this issue, everyone manages godlike feats; in fact, the team "defeats" Galactus without breaking a sweat. If the team wins every outing without a struggle, it's not going to be the most interesting of series.
